The Rural Utilities Service (RUS), a rural development agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is accepting applications for fiscal year 2022 for the Rural eConnectivity Program (ReConnect). 

ReConnect provides loans, grants and loan/grant combinations to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas. In facilitating the expansion of broadband services and infrastructure, the program will fuel long-term economic development and opportunities in rural America.

Applications can be submitted through the RUS online application portal found here through Feb. 22.

Applicants are encouraged to consider projects that will advance the following priorities:

  • Assisting rural communities in economic recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in disadvantaged communities.
  • Increasing rural residents’ access to rural development programs and benefits.
  • Reducing pollution and increasing resilience to the impacts of climate change through economic support to rural communities.
